Radiator Fan?
MY car’s (KIA Sephia 2001) Radiator Fan turns on after 3 to 4 miles of travelling.
Is it a normal behavior or something going wrong?
Yes. Your fan comes on when your engine or I should say your thermostat reaches that certain temp. It takes 3-4miles to really warm up. What you need to worry about, if is the fan DOES NOT come on! Just keep an eye on your little thermostat on your dash and dont go into the red. If there was a malfunction with your fan or ECU(computer) You would have "check engine" light come on. Peace
Radiator fan?
i have a 95 maxima...i recently put a engine in...now i notice that at idle...the fan doesn't go off and on like its suppose to...its jus stay on. and at time when im driving, i can feel heat on my feet i would say coming from engine...so what are the possible causes why my fan stay on, and for the heat on my feet when driving??
Does the fan come on when you first start the car after it's been off for awhile, like overnight? If yes, then you could have a stuck relay, bad temperature sensor, or someone plugged the some wiring connectors wrong or even bypassed the sensor and shorted the wires. If no, then you could have a bad thermostat not allowing proper coolant flow, bad water pump, low antifreeze, clogged cooling somewhere (radiator, hoses, etc.) causing a higher than normal coolant temperature. The heat on your feet could be due to: - what I said in the "If no" paragraph above - improperly sealed ventilation unit to the firewall - bad or disconnected vacuum line, control unit/motor or cable to one or more air directional doors in the ventilation system. Best of luck.
Is the radiator fan suppose to come on right when you start or after a certain temperature?
On my 98 escort, I noticed the radiator fan doesn't come on when the car is first started, and am wondering if it's normal and the fan only activates when the engine reaches a certain temperature.
